National Geographic Photo Contest 2011

There's still time! The deadline for entries for this year's National Geographic Photo contest is November 30.Photographers of all skill levels ( Last year more than 16,000 images submitted by photographers from 130 countries) enter photographs in three categories: Nature,People and Places. The Photographs are judged on creativity and photographic quality by a panel:-
1.Tim Laman
Is a field biologist and wildlife photojournalist.He credits his childhood in Japan, where he had ready access to the mountains and oceans, for his strong interest in exploring nature, both above and below water.

2. Amy Toensing
National Geographic Photographer Amy Toensing grew up in New England and has covered stories from her own backyard like Monhegan island, maine, and the Jersey shore to places on other side of the globe, including the remote jungles of Papua New Guinea and the Australian Outback.

3. Peter Essick
Recently named one of the 40 most influential nature photographers in the world by outdoor photography magazine.

There is one first place winner in each category and a grand prize winner as well. The following is the some of the entries from the above categories.
How to Enter
Each entry consists of an entry form, a single image, and an entry fee.The entry fee is US$15 per entry. To enter visit www.ngphotocontest.com,complete an entry form with the required information,including your name, address telephone number,email address,and photo caption,and submit along with your photograph and fee in accordance with the instructions that follow:-
The categories for entries are :(1) People (2) Places (3) Nature (the 'Categories"). There is no limit on the number of entries per person. Each entry must comply with the following requirements (the Photograph requirements").
Photographs must be be in digital format. Only on-line entries will be eligible.No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this contest.
